The Chamber hires a new General Counsel

María Guðjónsdóttir will join The Chamber as General Counsel in August

María Guðjónsdóttir has been hired as a General Counsel at The Iceland Chamber of Commerce. María is a district attorney who holds a master’s degree in Law from University of Iceland and a diploma in Public Administration from the same university. Among other things, the Chamber’s General Counsel provides legal advisory, works on various publications, and oversees The Nordic Arbitration Centre, which is operated by the Iceland Chamber of Commerce.

Since 2019, María has worked on projects regarding strategy-making and implementation in various ministries, including the Ministry of Social Affairs and Children, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, and at the Prime Minister’s Office. Previously she worked as a court judicial assistant and as an associate at a law firm.

María will join The Chamber in August.
